The Portobello Prom race (4m) is on Thursday 17th June. Last weekend Ian Rowland took part in the Fellsman – a 60 mile, high level event, over hard rugged moorland, climbing to over 11,000 feet. The route takes the entrants up Inglebrough, down to the Hill Inn and up Whernside (two of the famous Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks Walk). The sun shone down on the runners (for some of the race at least) – but sadly the wind decided to come out to spoil the fun.Still. The club’s AGM will be held on Tuesday 1st June at 8:00 at Hallhill. Please make the effort to attend. It’s your club and your opportunity to contribute. A Tidy Dunbar Day is planned on Sunday 20 June The schools, rotary club, Guides, brownies, rainbows are all taking part – if anyone is willing to take part in helping with the area round Hallhill, just come along on the day. The council will provide bags, bibs, pick ups, gloves etc and will remove the rubbish same day.

Windy conditions but it didn’t stop 217 runners finishing the 20 mile course. Stuart Hay beat his previous time to take 7th place overall in2:08:37, taking the trophy for 1st over 45 runner. Brian Davidsonfinished in 2:39:28 – a great time for his first race over the HalfMarathon distance. Neal Wyatt finished in 2:45:15 and Anne Hay in2:52:17. Well done everyone.
