Just to remind everyone that we will be hosting our leg of the Borders Cross-Country series on Sunday 13th December, so will be looking for marshals (and also helpers to mark out the course). Anne has given notice that she is stepping down from the group and is looking for someone who would be happy to represent Dunbar Running Club at the meetings (usually four a year plus the AGM). If anyone is interested and would like further information, please contact Anne as soon as possible.
There is still one more club entry available to anyone who wishes to do the 2010 London Marathon. If anyone fancies entering, please contact Anne as soon as possible. Once again, if there are several notes of interest, the names will go into a hat and one picked out.
Well, the results of another highly scientific poll are in…. and what an ungrateful bunch we are! Only 34% of respondents keep and cherish all those hard earned medals, while 45% of us bung ‘em in a drawer. A surprising 10% of us regard them as useless clutter and dispose of them while 9% at least keep the ones that are “special”. All makes you wonder why race organisers bother…

Dunbar Running Club hosted their annual 10 mile mile multi-terrain race on Saturday, sponsored by British Energy. The gale-force conditions made the run a difficult one, particularly on the final climb, but that didn’t deter the winner, 17 year old Andrew Crichton of Dunbar Running Club, from finishing in under an hour in 59:35, nearly four minutes ahead of Moray Peterson of Portobello, who finished in 1:03:33.
